Philadelphia Eagles superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown couldn’t help but seemingly poke fun at his former team on Sunday evening.
The Kansas City Chiefs hosted Brown’s former club, the Tennessee Titans, on Sunday Night Football. With Malik Willis starting in place of an injured Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee relied heavily on the ground game.
Tennessee’s pass-catchers struggled to get open throughout the deal. Through four quarters, Willis had just five completions (on 15 attempts) for 80 yards. Tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo was Tennessee’s leading receiver with one reception for 48 yards.
In fact, none of the Titans’ wideouts had a single reception in regulation. Clearly, they could’ve used a receiver of Brown’s caliber in this game, so it’s no wonder that he seemingly made fun of his own team on Twitter.
In a stunner, the Ttians traded their top wideout to the Eagles ahead of the draft. Philadelphia then signed the fourth-year wideout to a massive four-year contract extension worth $100 million. Needless to say, the trade has worked out beautifully for the NFL’s only undefeated team.

Through eight games, Brown has racked up 43 receptions for 718 yards and six touchdowns. Coming into Week 9, Tennessee’s leading receiver was Robert Woods (22 receptions for 256 yards and one touchdown).
With the first-round pick they obtained from Philadelphia, the Titans took Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks. He hasn’t played since Week 4 as he continues to recover from turf toe.
Though the Titans are struggling in the passing game, they have the AFC South division crown on cruise control. Superstar running back Derrick Henry is still the focal point of the offense, and the Kevin Byard-led defense has been among the league’s best all season long.
It’s obviously too early to say if Tennessee fully regrets the Brown trade. The same cannot be said about the Eagles, though.
