Fresh suspensions have been handed down by the NFL to end this week, with a Seattle Seahawks wide receiver among them.
The team will be without D’Wayne Eskridge for the first six games next season, having attracted a ban from the league as a result of his violation of the personal conduct policy, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Eskridge, who was a second-round pick by Seattle in 2021, has made 20 appearances over the past two seasons, making 17 catches for a total of 122 yards, as well as a single touchdown.
The former Western Michigan Star, a Second-Team All-American in 2020, was tipped to be a breakout player in 2023 as it was believed that he would be the WR behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Of course, the possibility of such a campaign remains, it will just have to be put on hold for six weeks.
The Seahawks will open preseason affairs against the Minnesota Vikings next Thursday, kicking off the regular season against the Los Angeles Rams a month later.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs have also lost defensive end Charles Omenihu to a similar suspension following his arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence in January.
