Those footsteps you’re hearing is Drew Brees being ahead of schedule as he gets closer and closer to making his return.
The New Orleans Saints have been without their starting QB since Week 2 when he suffered a significant thumb injury on his throwing hand after colliding with Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Since then, Brees had surgery on the right thumb and was given a 6-8 week timeline for a potential return.
The Saints quarterback was spotted practicing on Friday, but without the use of a brace on his thumb.
The team is certainly in no rush as Teddy Bridgewater has played well enough to have the team going 3-0 since his departure.
He’s reportedly gearing up for a Week 8 return against the Arizona Cardinals.
