Fans are worried like hell for Drew Brees after a video came out showing him being struck by lightning. This followed his announcement that he was going to a “top-secret location” to film a promotional video for PointsBet.
The below video shows the future hall of fame QB getting ready to shoot a commercial in harsh weather conditions but then he suddenly got struck by lightning.
Soon after the video, PointBet made things worse with their statement about it to make it seem like it was real.
“We are aware of the media coverage regarding PointsBet brand ambassador Drew Brees. We are in communication with Brees’ team and will continue to monitor events throughout the coming hours. At this stage we will not be making any further comment.”
Luckily, a reporter reached out to Brees and confirmed he was never struck by lightning.

According to Katherine Terrell, who is an ESPN reporter who covers the Saints, she texted Brees and he said he is “good” and that “he did not get struck by lightning”.
PointsBet may have thought this was a good idea, but they are going to take a huge PR hit because of their actions.
Drew Brees retired from the NFL in 2021. In his career, he racked up 13 trips to the Pro Bowl, two AP Offensive Player of the Year accolades, a 2006 Walter Payton Man of The Year honor, an NFL-record 80,358 yards passing, and 571 touchdown passes.
