We’re coming up on two weeks since the NFC Title game where the country witnessed multiple refs miss a blatant pass interference call that would’ve and should’ve put the New Orleans Saints in prime position to advance to the Super Bowl.
Instead, the Rams tied and then won the game and are now set to face the New England Patriots on Sunday.
We’ve heard from just about everybody in regards to the controversy, except Roger Goodell, who remained quiet on the topic until he was forced to talk about it during Super Bowl media week.
That was a huge problem for Drew Brees.
On Friday, the New Orleans Saints quarterback criticized the commissioner for his extremely delayed response to the controversy that cost them a Super Bowl appearance.
“I think that we all recognize that, being in that position, you are the face of the league. And you have the responsibility to come out and address issues when they come about,” he said. “And I would say that on Monday or Tuesday after that game we all deserved a response of some kind.”

Brees then touched on the topic of Goodell handling the controversy as opposed to his own.
“I mean, do I really want to be in a position talking about this over and over again? No,” he said. “But I have to stand up and do it because I have to represent my team, represent the ‘Who Dat’ nation, and that’s my responsibility.
“So it’s the commissioner’s responsibility to do the same thing, and yet we don’t hear a peep for 10 days. And it’s because he has to do it now because he’s at the Super Bowl and he does his annual press conference.”
Some players for the Saints are out in Atlanta for the Super Bowl and might get kick in the gut once again if the Rams go on to defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53.
