Drew Brees may have had zero involvement in Thursday night’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, but the retired NFL quarterback was still a hot topic throughout the contest anyway.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs bested the Broncos, coached by Brees’ former HC Sean Payton, by a final score of 19-8. The Denver offense struggled all night and mustered just eight points, only getting on the board with 6:05 remaining.
Hence, Brees was mentioned aplenty on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Payton went 9-8 in his final year as the New Orleans Saints’ head coach in 2021 before resigning. It’s worth mentioning he was a combined 8-1 without Brees while the latter was injured in the 2019 and 2020 season.
But without a doubt, Payton’s arrival in Denver has been nothing short of disastrous and disappointing thus far.
