This week sure must suck for Drew Brees. The New Orleans Saints’ 40-year-old quarterback was a missed pass interference call away from playing in this Sunday’s big game. And while he’d probably rather be on some far away beach so that he can forget about that haunting NFC Championship loss to the Rams, he had to be in Atlanta to take part in the NFL Honors show (where he’ll likely lost the MVP award to Patrick Mahomes) and some Super Bowl festivities (even though his team was robbed of the chance to play in the big game).
As part of those festivities, Brees made an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, where he was asked to make his Super Bowl prediction.
Of course, Brees went with the Patriots. But he sure as hell didn’t look happy while do so.
Just look at the sadness in those eyes:
Hang in there, Drew. It’ll all be over soon.
