The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams are preparing for their Week Nine matchup at Lambeau Field this weekend.
The Rams have made a significant move before that game.
The team tried to sign quarterback John Wolford off the Tampa Bay Bucs practice squad but he turned them down so they headed somewhere else. The Rams then agreed to terms with quarterback Dresser Winn, Jourdan Rodrigue of TheAthletic.com reports.
“The Rams are hoping to add quarterback Dresser Winn (I believe to the practice squad) pending passing his physical, per sources. Winn was with the team in training camp,” Rodrigue wrote. “One small point of interest – Winn also punted in college and Rams punter Ethan Evans has a sprained ankle.”

According to The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue, the Rams “are not ruling out” injured reserve for quarterback Matthew Stafford who was forced to leave Week 8 action with a thumb injury. Per Rodrigue, “chillier conditions in [Green Bay] combined with a bye week after” is a factor in the decision.
So far in 2023, Stafford has thrown 278 passes for 2,070 yards to go along with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Winn spent training camp with the Rams after signing as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Tennessee at Martin in May. He completed 3 of 5 passes for 21 yards in the Rams’ preseason finale.
He threw for 2,928 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2022 for UT Martin and finished his college career with the fifth-most passing yards (5,800), fifth-most touchdown passes (37) and fourth-most completions (492) in team history.
