When Drake something, he does it big.
Over the weekend, the Toronto-born rapper accepted Billboard’s Artist of the Decade Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Drake’s OVO team, along with his parents, presented him with the prestigious award at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
After viewers watched a montage highlighting his lofty achievements, Drake took to the stage with his son Adonis by his side.
Once that was over, Drake and the people closest to him enjoyed a nice dinner….not a restaurant, but on the 50-yard-line at the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California because he actually rented out the place.
“He rented the entire stadium for the night,” a source told E! Online. “The stadium has a gigantic banner with his name and ‘Artist of the Decade.”
In an Instagram post shared to the rapper’s IG about the event, Drake explained how he got to this point in his career. “Never show anger at slight. Tell nothing. Earn respect from everyone by deeds, not words. Respect the members of your blood family. Gambling is recreation, not a way to earn a living. Love your father, your mother, your sister, think harder about who you call your brothers and beware of loving any woman other than your wife.”
