Beloved Canadian rapper Drake is all-in on the Kansas City Chiefs for Super Bowl 57 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
On Thursday evening, Drake shared a list of his Super Bowl bets via Instagram. This included a $700,000 bet on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl for a payout of $1.47 million, $25,000 on Travis Kelce to win Super Bowl MVP for a payout of $325,000, another $60,000 on a tight end to win Super Bowl 57 MVP for a $600,000 payout, $50,000 on Patrick Mahomes to score the team’s first touchdown for a payout of $750,0000, $50,000 on the Chiefs to win both halves for a payout of $250,000, and $30,000 on the Chiefs to win each quarter for a $630,000 payout.
Several online sources list Drake’s net worth at around $250 million, so he can obviously afford to have some fun by placing an array of mega wagers, several of which could land him payouts of six figures.
The Eagles are slight 1.5-point betting favorites to win the Super Bowl, though the Chiefs finished with an identical 14-3 record. Both starting quarterbacks, Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, are nominees for league MVP honors.
For what it’s worth, the last player to win the MVP award and the Super Bowl in the same season was Kurt Warner with the St. Louis Rams in 1999. Will Mahomes (the likely winner) or Hurts snap that streak this Sunday? We’ll find out in three days.
The Eagles are playing in their first Super Bowl since the 2017 season, when they went on to win the franchise’s first ever Super Bowl. The Chiefs are playing in their third Super Bowl since 2019, looking to win a second championship in four years.
