Unlike the Super Bowl in 2020, which seemed to be the last biggest event to happen before the pandemic, there won’t be a stadium full of fans at Raymond James Stadium to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Bucs do battle.
On top of that, Dr. Fauci is urging fans not to engage in any insane parties during a global pandemic. The nation’s top infectious disease expert said during an interview that now isn’t the time to invite people over for watch parties, because of the possibility that they are infected with the coronavirus and could sicken others.
“You don’t want parties with people that you haven’t had much contact with,” he told NBC’s “Today” show. “You just don’t know if they’re infected, so as difficult as that is, at least this time around, just lay low and cool it.”
“The one thing you don’t want to do, you don’t want to be somebody that’s putting a damper on anything,” Fauci said, “but you don’t want parties with people that you haven’t had much contact with.”
Fauci suggested watching the game at home by yourself or with your housemates.
“Enjoy it,” Fauci said. “Have a party in your house with your family with the people who were there.”

“If you do have a small gathering with people who don’t live with you, outdoors is safer than indoors. This year, choose a safer way to enjoy the game.”
Super Bowl LV has been capped off at just 22,000 fans because of the pandemic and citywide coronavirus mandates.
