The Jaguars are officially down to 53 players on their roster. Jacksonville announced all the moves it made today to get down to 53, including the son of head coach Doug Pederson.
The Jaguars announced that tight end Josh Pederson, Doug Pederson’s son, was waived as part of the team’s cut to get to a 53-man roster.
Pederson was an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana-Monroe in 2021 who has bounced around in his career, spending time with the 49ers, Saints, and Chiefs.
He played for the Houston Gamblers of the USFL this Spring before his contract ended in June.
The Jaguars waived LS Tucker Addington, WR Kevin Austin Jr., S Latavious Brini, OLB D.J. Coleman, RB Snoop Conner, OL Coy Cronk, DL De’Shaan Dixon, CB Erick Hallett II, WR Jacob Harris, CB Kaleb Hayes, LB Dequan Jackson, OL Samuel Jackson, WR Oliver Martin, K James McCourt, S Ayo Oyelola, TE Derek Parish, TE Josh Pederson, TE Gerrit Prince, WR Kendric Pryor, QB Nathan Rourke, OLB Jordan Smith, OLB Willie Taylor III, DL Raymond Vohasek, OL Darryl Williams, WR Seth Williams and CB Divaad Wilson.

Pederson also gave the Jaguars some depth at long snapper in the summer. However, Ross Matsick has had Jacksonville’s long-snapper job locked up since 2020.
Despite bouncing around on so many teams, Pederson has yet to appear in a regular season game in the NFL.
