The Jacksonville Jaguars made yet another change to their roster on Monday by announcing the release of former top-ten RB Leonard Fournette.
Jacksonville was shopping Fournette back around the draft but didn’t find any takers even for a late-round pick. Head coach Doug Marrone was asked about trading Fournette before his release, but he stated that the team couldn’t find any takers to even give them a 6th round pick for him.
He also said that the move was made for on-field reasons rather than any other issues they may have had with the running back during his time in Jacksonville.
“At the end of the day, I’ve got to be able to field a team that gives us the best chance to win,” Marrone said, via John Oehser of the team’s website.
