Drew Brees has attracted so much backlash from fellow players and even teammates that he may not even be able to recover during the final years of his career.
Teammates Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders have already blasted him on social media and that was just the start of it.
Former NFL WR Doug Baldwin took to Twitter as well and actually brought up Brees’ parenting skills when trying to drive home his point about his comments.
“@drewbrees the reason my children have to live in a world that won’t empathize with their pain is because people like you are raising your children to perpetuate the cycle. Drew, you are the problem.”
Brees reiterated his stance on how he will “never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America” during an interview with Yahoo Finance.
“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell you what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States,” the 41-year-old quarterback said.

“I envision my two grandfathers, who fought for this country during World War II, one in the Army and one in the Marine Corps. Both risking their lives to protect our country and to try to make our country and this world a better place. So every time I stand with my hand over my heart looking at that flag and singing the national anthem, that’s what I think about,” he said.
