Andy Dalton did not last long in free agency as the Dallas Cowboys swooped in and signed him to a 1-year, $7 million deal.
Less than 24 hours after that deal was announced, Donovan McNabb took issue with it.
The former Eagles quarterback took to Twitter and alluded to race being a factor as to how Dalton got many more millions than Jameis Winston, while Dak Prescott can’t get his contract and Cam Newton is still waiting for a job.
“So @andydalton14 signs a 1 year deal for up to 7 million, if he reaches possible incentives. @Jaboowins signs a 1 year deal for 1 million. @dak can’t seem to get his contract he deserves & @CameronNewton is still on the street. Anyone have any questions????? Am I the only one?”
At 26-years-old and coming off a season where he threw for over 5,000 yards and 33 touchdowns, Jameis is clearly more valuable than Dalton, but their contracts in free agency state differently.
It should also be noted that Dak Prescott has turned down a lucrative deal from the Cowboys in hopes of a getting a bigger one, while reports have suggested that Cam Newton is not willing to accept a backup QB role anywhere.
