Travis Kelce’s mom is opening up about her son’s budding romance with Taylor Swift.
At the start of the year, she wound up at the heart of a major media frenzy when her two sons, Travis and Jason, wound up going head-to-head in the Super Bowl. By Week 3 of the NFL season, she would be rubbing elbows with pop sensation Taylor Swift and then once again the following week.
Donna did not open up about her son’s relationship with Swift, but she did share the NFL’s thoughts on this matter.
Donna claimed during a recent appearance on the Got It From My Momma podcast that the NFL told her that the Kelce family has provided the league with “good PR.”
“All I can tell you is that the NFL is laughing all the way to the bank,” she said. “It’s like, good for them. They’re getting the ramifications of everything.
“I can tell you this, that they’ve told me personally that the Kelce family has done more good PR for football than they could’ve paid a million dollars to a PR firm.”
Donna said the past year has been a wild experience, including Travis winning a second Super Bowl while beating his older brother Jason’s Philadelphia Eagles as well as the past two weeks of hugging and mugging with Swift. “It’s just very surreal. In fact, I was just thinking on Sunday, going to both games and everything that has happened within the past 12 months… I feel like I’m in an alternate universe. It’s not the one I grew up in, for sure. So it’s very, very fun, it’s exciting, but also taxing,” she told pod host Jennifer Vickery Smith.

While the NFL is definitely reaping the benefits of the publicity, both Travis and Jason think that the league might just be “overdoing it” with the coverage.
“I think it’s fun when they show who all’s at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching,” Travis answered. “But at the same time, I think … they’re overdoing it a little bit, for sure, especially in my situation.”
Jason, however, took a different approach.
“I just think the NFL’s not used to celebrities coming to the games,” he said, comparing the NFL and NBA. “Basketball has it figured out. They’re all courtside, they’re sitting there. They show ’em once or twice and then they get back to the game.”
The Chiefs are currently 3-1 and on a three-game winning streak while the Eagles are 4-0 and one of two teams that still have not suffered a loss.
