The Miami Dolphins survived a massive scare on Monday night, with Tyreek Hill managing to return to the game after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter.
Hill left the game in the first quarter after injuring his ankle on a tackle. Hill was down for several moments but managed to get up and run off the field, prompting a fired-up Miami crowd to chant “MVP” in support.
Per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post, Hill revealed a hilarious text message he received from his wife during the game. Hill, who tied the knot with Keeta Vaccaro last month, was instructed to get back in the game.
“It was a lot of pain,” Hill said. “It sucked. I’ve been dealing with ankle injuries this whole season. I texted my wife it hurt. She said ‘You better get your a** back in that game.'”
Hill returned in the third quarter and finished with four catches for 61 yards in the contest. Miami led 27-13 in the fourth but coughed up 15 unanswered points in the final 2:40, losing 28-27 and suffering their first home loss this year.
