Wednesday marks a week since the Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator role became vacant, with the team and Vic Fangio mutually agreeing to part ways.
Fangio is still doing the same job as he took his talent to the Philadelphia Eagles.
There seems to be a reason why Fangio decided to want out.
Being the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the NFL wasn’t enough to make him stay because Fangio had issues with the way some of his players behaved all year. A new rumor stated that many players had prioritized the Miami lifestyle over everything and it eventually led to the defensive coordinator bolting.
His former players weren’t shaken up over his loss as many took some shots at him.
Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill said the following:

“I’m not surprised he landed in Philly. People talk around the league behind closed doors. They was like, ‘Vic trying to get to Philly anyways.’
“I just want to say shoutout to Coach Vic for making a pit stop in Miami. I learned a lot from him, even though it was quick. He’s really a guru at defense. He’s just got to learn how to fit in with his players.”
Jevon Holland suggested he should kick rocks and Cam Smith said a lot with his “unlocked” emoji tweet.
Fangio hasn’t stated anything since his departure which leads you to believe he is focused on his next chapter and does not care about anything anyone has to say on the Dolphins.
The Dolphins had a good year in 2023 but it ended after just one game played in the playoffs when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round.
