The reason Dolly Parton was holding the stage during her halftime performance during the Cowboys game on Thanksgiving has been revealed.
The 11-time Grammy Award winner put on a show this past Thursday as she serenaded the AT&T Stadium crowd with classics such as “Jolene” and “9 to 5” all while dressed like a Cowboys cheerleader. But fans noticed she was holding onto parts of the stage at certain points.
NFL reporter Jane Slater has revealed the reason for this, claiming that Parton was supposed to have a stand supporting her but didn’t get one.
“For those knocking my girl for just holding on here, she was supposed to come out of the Star and have a stand supporting her,” Slater wrote on her Instagram story. “It didn’t work.”
Parton did not let the lack of support stop her from putting in another memorable performance, but she’s probably had a word with Jerry Jones about it.
