One of the top wide receiver prospects of the 2024 NFL Draft has a shin fracture that was discovered at the NFL Combine.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, doctors discovered a stress fracture in the left shin of Texas A&M wide receiver Ainias Smith. As such, he’ll miss the NFL Combine and will see a specialist next week.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Smith pieced together the best season of his college career in 2023, tallying 53 receptions for 795 yards and two touchdowns. Smith was also used sparingly on running plays, tallying 293 rushing yards and four rushing scores during the 2020 season.
Smith isn’t the only notable prospect that had a broken bone discovered at the NFL Combine. Yesterday, it was announced that doctors found a Jones fracture in the right foot of Alabama star cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, who will also have to miss the Combine.
The last day of the 2024 NFL Combine will be on Monday.
