After trading quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, the Seattle Seahawks may add another star player to the trading block. Teams in need of a wide receiver are reportedly calling the Seahawks and asking about D.K. Metcalf.
Metcalf addressed a recent report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport that teams have been “calling Seattle” about trading for him.
“Haven’t heard anything,” Metcalf wrote, as he tagged hismelf as the source at the end.
During Sunday morning’s edition of ESPN’s SportsCenter, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler broke down the latest on a possible trade.
“Teams are looking,” Fowler said. “Several teams were in on (DeVante Parker) or at least talked to his agent about a potential trade. You’re talking about Packers, Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons. So a big name that’s been buzzing around league circles is DK Metcalf in Seattle, in part because it’s just there are layers to this story, because execs that I talk to believe that, ‘Hey, maybe for the right price, he could be available or the player could want a change of scenery.’
But yet, the Seahawks are getting indications both privately and publicly that he’s in the plans. And so, really it’s going to come down to the contract because he’s got one year left on his deal. Receivers are making 20-plus-million a year now — that’s the issue.”

The second-round pick coming out of Ole Miss in the 2019 NFL Draft has been a gem for the Seahawks.
In three years in the NFL, Metcalf has 3,170 yards and 29 receiving touchdowns. His best year was in 2020 when he hauled in 83 passes for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Metcalf is currently on a four-year contract worth just over $4.5 million with Seattle. However, the 2022 season is the last one under contract with the Seahawks.
