Upon entering the NFL, Seattle Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf wasted no time in capturing the attention of everybody around the league.
Despite how dynamic he has been on the field, it was shocking to see the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver didn’t make the NFL Top 100 list from last season. The 25-year-old came in at number 101.
While speaking with Seattle Sports on Wednesday, he had a strong reaction to the snub.
“It’s none of my business what other people think of me. I think very highly of myself and the type of player I am. The only thing I care about is how Geno, my O-line, other WR’s, and peers in this building think of me.”
Metcalf’s rise to stardom actually began before he was even drafted, when he put on a show at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Seahawks drafted him in the second round and wasted little time becoming an impact player with 900 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie. Metcalf has continuously built on that strong rookie season, and is now seen as one of the game’s top receivers.
Following the trade of Russell Wilson, Geno Smith took over the starting quarterback and he and Metcalf instantly clicked. The fourth-year receiver had a career-high 94 receptions for 1,048 yards and six touchdowns.

Despite his strong play, Metcalf was a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro in 2020, but those are his only individual accolades through his first four seasons.
Maybe that changes in 2023.
