The Seattle Seahawks suffered several self-inflicted wounds in their overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. The biggest one was easily wide receiver D.K. Metcalf’s fumble at the end of regulation.
The Seahawks had the ball on Pittsburgh’s 35-yard line with no timeouts left and 18 seconds on the clock when Geno Smith found Metcalf open on the left sideline. Instead of going out of bounds, Metcalf tried to get more yards and fumbled the ball.
Thanks to some quick thinking by Freddie Swain, Seattle was able to spike the ball and get off a game-tying field goal by Jason Meyers.
However, it did not stop Hall of Fame tight end and current analyst Shannon Sharpe from calling DK out on Twitter.
Metcalf responded by calling him a ‘lil boy.’

Metcalf wasn’t asked about his decision after the game as the Seahawks would go on to lose 23-20 in overtime.
