San Francisco 49ers superstar wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk wants to be paid, but his current squad is unwilling to do that so far.
Many different teams have been mentioned as possible destinations, but now we are getting the most surprising team of the offseason.
Brandon Aiyuk is coming off the best season of his four-year pro career, during which he firmly established himself as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL today.
In a recent episode of the Coffee Break podcast, Denver reporter James Merliatt suggested a potential blockbuster deal that would send the standout wide receiver to the Mile High city.
The proposed deal has the Denver Broncos giving up Courtland Sutton and two future first-round picks to the Niners in exchange for Aiyuk.
Merliatt further explained how the Broncos would benefit from such a deal.
“Brandon Aiyuk’s a player,” Merilatt said on the Coffee Break podcast on June 17 (h/t Josh Buckhalter of Heavy.com). “He’s a difference maker and this team has no one on offense who is right now a difference maker. Now, we can all say, ‘Hey, Jaleel McLaughlin might turn into one. Marvin Mims might turn into one.’ Maybe. Maybe. But we know what Brandon Aiyuk is.
“He’s a household name in the NFL. He’d be the best player on their offense, the second-best player on the team the day he walked in the building. So, from that standpoint, yeah. Because I think he’s a significantly better wide receiver, in my opinion, than Courtland Sutton.”

The 49ers would be losing a standout player in Aiyuk but gaining a good player in Courtland Sutton, who recorded 772 receiving yards and ten touchdowns in the 2023 season.
On the flip side, the Broncos would be getting a guy who led the 49ers in receptions (75) and yards (1,342) and tied Samuel in receiving touchdowns with 7 during the 2023 season. We can even go back to the previous year, in 2022, when he led the team with 78 receptions for 1,015 yards.

Brandon Aiyuk Says 49ers ‘Don’t Want Me Back’
Last month, Brandon Aiyuk added more controversy to his crazy offseason when he posted on TikTok a FaceTime call he had with Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, his former Arizona State teammate.
Aiyuk tells Daniels, “They said they don’t want me back.”
Daniels responds, “That’s it?”
“I swear,” Aiyuk said.
It remains unclear if Aiyuk was implying the 49ers don’t want him back for this season or is saying the 49ers don’t want him beyond the 2024 season due to his contract demands.
