Odell Beckham Jr. has already stated how he felt about the people responsible for him not being with the New York Giants anymore, but there was never any indication that he might have an issue with Eli Manning.
After skipping the Browns’ voluntary workouts, the star wideout is in attendance for mandatory mini-camp, and doing regular interviews with the local media.
After Wednesday’s practice, Beckham met with the media to discuss a variety of topics that included what most think was an off-hand comment that could be interpreted as shade toward his former quarterback, Eli Manning.
“I’ve watched Baker since Oklahoma. I think it’s the confidence he carries himself with. You can’t coach that on anybody. That’s something that comes from within you. And he really has that and it’s on display always … also, I have to get adjusted to the speed because he’s got an arm. He’s throwing that ball hard. Just catching him from the first day, it was like: ‘Wow, this is completely different.’”
The comment about the arm strength is especially telling since Eli has definitely let off a bunch of ducks in the air over the past few years that have been made to look good since he had an athlete in Odell out there who can catch anything thrown his way.
He no longer has that luxury anymore and the franchise will be faced to see it week in and week out as they might be faced with the task of possibly replacing him during the season with 6th overall pick Daniel Jones.
