Dianna Russini is headed out the door.
ESPN NFL insider Dianna Russini is leaving the network to become the top insider at The Athletic, according to sports media insider Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.
Russini has been with ESPN for the last eight years and has been a fixture on several of the network’s top programs, so her departure out of nowhere left fans in complete shock.
ESPN reportedly wanted her to stay so bad that they offered her a raise. She still decided to leave for The Athletic.

The report further states Russini will appear on video, podcasts and write stories for the website.
Before being hired at ESPN, Russini was the main sports anchor at WRC-TV in Washington, D.C., and worked for NBC Connecticut and WNBC in New York City.
ESPN has been in the news a ton lately as they had massive layoffs of about 20 employees, including lead NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy, Jalen Rose, Suzy Kolber, and many more.
The Athletic has also been in the news after they bought by the New York Times for $550 million last year and took over the sports coverage of the Times after the newspaper eliminated its entire sports department.
The 40-year-old Russini seems to be headed for bigger and better things.
