On Monday, head coach Jason Garrett stated he expected offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to back with the team in 2019. Literally five hours after making those comments, he backtracked on those original comments.
“We haven’t had any substantive conversations,” Garrett said. “Scott did an excellent job for us this year. Again, I don’t know how I answered that question this morning. Nothing has changed. Again, I was in and around player meetings. I feel very good about what Scott Linehan did for us. Feel very good what Rod Marinelli, Kris Richard have done, Keith O’Quinn and everybody on our staff. We’ll have conversations about everybody as we go over here the next few days, and we’ll make a lot of decisions to put the staff together, put our team together as we go.”
Four days later, the Dallas Cowboys made the decision that Linehan had officially been fired from his OC position and Cowboys fans everywhere celebrated his departure.
They weren’t the only ones.
Following the news of Linehan being removed from the coaching staff, former Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant took to Twitter and joined in on the celebration with one perfect photo.
