Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is putting his support squarely behind holdout running back Ezekiel Elliott and encouraging him to not back down from his contract demands.
On Friday, the free agent wide receiver tweeted his advice to Elliott after Cowboys owner warned him about not honoring his current deal during a radio appearance.
“Zeke great for you…15years 20years from now you are going to thank yourself… being 100% committed to something and not getting that same commitment back will break you down! Stand your ground.. I wish I would have done a lot of things different”
After eight seasons with the franchise, Bryant found himself being released by the Cowboys in 2018. By cutting him from the team, the Cowboys did not honor the final two years on his deal.
All reports as well as Jerry Jones’ words seem to indicate that Zeke’s holdout is definitely going to extend into the regular season.
Elliott is under contract through the 2020 season.
