Jerry Jones always has the option to not say anything, but he cannot seem to get out of his own way, especially when it comes to a contract dispute with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
As CeeDee Lamb continues his holdout, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after the team held a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams that he doesn’t “have a sense of urgency” about getting a contract extension done as the 2024 season draws near.
Not only were fans outraged at what he said, but Dez Bryant was as well.
Taking to X, Bryant retweeted the video of Jones saying there’s no urgency while adding his own two cents to the matter.
“This only happens to… Let me shut my mouth,” Bryant wrote. “Winning must not be in the vocabulary smh.”
Lamb is entering the last year of a deal scheduled to pay him $17.99 million this season. He has not reported to training camp as he is looking for a new contract to make him one of the NFL’s highest-paid receivers.

However, it appears that owner Jerry Jones has dug his cleats into the sand and will not give him what he wants.
Jerry Jones And The Cowboys Are In A Similar Situation With CeeDee Lamb That Faced With Ezekiel Elliott
Jerry Jones appears to remember the last time he was strong-armed into giving a top offensive talent a lot of money.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has held out of the team’s training camp so far this summer while negotiating a new contract.
Back in 2019, Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott did the same thing before it resulted in a six-year, $90 million contract that included $50 million in guaranteed money, per ESPN.
His career went downhill shortly after, and it became money wasted for the team.
Jerry Jones must not want to make the same mistake twice, and now he and CeeDee Lamb are going head-to-head to see who will break first.
