Early in the third quarter of the Bears-Saints game, Bears wide receiver Javon Wims made a decision to throw punches at Saints defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson, leading to a brawl between both teams.
He appeared to either snatch his chain or his mouth guard to get his attention, and then hit him with a huge haymaker. Wims then punched him again, before the teams and officials got involved.
Veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant was not impressed with his action, so he called him out on Twitter: “You are a great player bro, but that wasn’t cool.. regardless of the situation,” Bryant said on Twitter. “You had time to think and you still did that.”
Gardner-Johnson was also the player who was reportedly punched by Saints teammate Michael Thomas during a practice in October.
Wims will likely catch a fine and suspension for his actions.
