Marion Barber retired after the 2011 season with 4,780 yards, 53 rushing touchdowns, and a 4.1 yards-per-carry average to his name. He certainly earned a reputation a bruising running back that has seemingly changed his life in the worst way after his football career.
His former Dallas Cowboys teammate Dez Bryant confirmed that the 38-year-old is still struggling in the present day.
“As I watch this video and me knowing exactly how Marion Barber life is going right now today is why I built @personalcorner …. I can’t even enjoy it because he’s down and out bad…we are just a stat and moments to most people…” Bryant wrote in response to a highlights video of Barber.
Barber was in the news in 2014 after a mental health incident. He would then re-appear after getting arrested in 2019 and faced two counts of criminal mischief for damaging two vehicles during a 2018 incident.
Barber came into the league with the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, spending six seaons with them before moving to the Chicago Bears for the 2011 campaign.
Hopefully, Barber can get help and find a way to change his life around for the better.
