Earlier this week, the Dallas Cowboys released numbers for all incoming rookies, but didn’t include CeeDee Lamb because he and Jerry Jones didn’t agree on what he should wear going forward.
Despite wanting to wear No. 10, Lamb ultimately decided to go with what Jones wanted in wearing the No. 88 jersey that has been held by players like Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and Dez Bryant.
Speaking of Dez Bryant, the former Cowboys player had been campaigning to come back to the team in 2020, so fans thought he would be upset about his old number being issued out.
‘BE YOU and BE GREAT..” he wrote.
Giving his number away would hardly stop Dez from coming back to the team if given the opportunity.
In his most recent season played, Bryant registered 69 grabs for 838 yards and six touchdowns in 2017. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and was one of the best receivers in football during a three-year stretch from 2012 to 2014 that saw him average 91 receptions for 1,312 yards and nearly 14 touchdowns.
