Brian Flores filed a lawsuit against the NFL on Tuesday alleging that the league has engaged in discriminatory hiring practices against Black candidates and everybody has came out to give their opinion on the matter.
His accusations include everything from NFL teams conducting sham interviews just to fulfill the league’s Rooney Rule to accusations that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross tried to pay Flores extra to tank during his first season in Miami.
Dez Bryant had one of the more stroner responses to what he thinks is going on and what he dealt with when he played with the Dallas Cowboys.
“I’ma tell yall some crazy shit…The year that I got cut, and I told some athletes, “Hey, I feel like our season being sabotaged. It’s no way that we should be running the same exact play..I remember going to coach Garrett office asking him, “hey man, you know I look forward to the game plan…why am I lining up in the same place each and every week?”
“I’m one-on-one..Dak don’t even look my way…it was so many times on film that the ball was not coming to me. It got to the point where I got frustrated and said fuck this shit..I’m gonna air this shit out in the media.”

Flores will now face off against the NFL in what could be a lengthy legal battle and knows that this could have a detrimental impact on his coaching career.
“God has gifted me with a special talent to coach the game of football, but the need for change is bigger than my personal goals,” Flores wrote in a statement. “In making the decision to file the class action complaint, I understand that I may be risking coaching the game I love. My sincere hope is that by standing up against systemic racism in the NFL, others will join me to ensure that positive change is made for generations to come.”
It will take some time for Flores’ lawsuit to play out, so this story isn’t going away.
