Ezekiel Elliott is hardly the first Dallas Cowboys player to deal with the tough negotiations with owner Jerry Jones. The Cowboys have had several major contract negotiations over the years, from Emmitt Smith to Tony Romo to Dez Bryant.
Dez Bryant knows all too well what those negotiations consist of with the Cowboys front office.
The All-Pro wide receiver once agreed to a five-year, $70 million contract with $45 million in guaranteed money and a $20 million signing bonus in July 2015.
There was an interesting story that surfaced on Twitter that laid out the shady thing Jones attempted to do before that contract came about.

Bryant came across that story and confirmed that it indeed happened:
“This is a fact.. 100% correct,” he tweeted.
This may explain why some agents aren’t big fans of the Cowboys owner. No one wants their client trying to negotiate their own contract without proper representation in the room.
The Cowboys have some major decisions to think about as Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are all seeking new deals.
Dallas opens its 2019 season on Sunday, Sept. 8 against the New York Giants.
