Dez Bryant did not sign with a team in 2019 and sat out the entire year, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to come back to playing football.
In fact, the former Dallas Cowboys WR is hoping to make his return back where it all started.
On Sunday, Bryant took to Twitter and campaigned for his former team in the Cowboys to re-sign him in a role similar to Jason Witten.
Witten, who is weighing his options on his future, finished the year with 63 receptions, 529 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Bryant has turned down offers in the past before joining the New Orleans Saints in 2018, but suffered a torn Achilles before he could take the field for them.
Dez did not leave the Cowboys on good terms as he fired back at Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones for saying the 2017 season was tough on quarterback Dak Prescott because he had the boisterous wide receiver “in his ear.”

“Here we go with that scapegoat s–t,” Bryant tweeted. “i charged everything to the game and went the other way.. y’all know what the real problem is .. don’t put it on me with that bullshit.. garbage ass play calling.. Everybody lined up in the same spot for 17 weeks..”
Bryant would later call Cowboys owner Jerry Jones “clueless” and referred to linebacker Sean Lee as “Snake Lee.”
The Cowboys released Bryant in April 2018 in lieu of absorbing a $16.5 million cap hit to retain his services for the following season.
