Ja’Marr Chase is considered the best wide receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft, so it’s no shocker that almost every team wants him.
The Detroit Lions would’ve loved to secure him before another team nabs him, but their draft position at No. 7 may seen him get taken just a few picks before.
The team tried to change that when they approached the Atlanta Falcons about a possible blockbuster trade, but they were asking for way too much in return.
“There was chatter early in the week that the Lions tried to trade up to No. 4 to get Chase, but the Falcons’ asking price was too high,” Fowler said, via ESPN.
During the 2019 season, Chase had 84 catches for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The 2021 NFL draft will take place in Cleveland, with the first round on April 29. Rounds 2 and 3 will be on April 30, while Rounds 4 through 7 will be on May 1.
