Matthew Stafford had requested to be traded by the Detroit Lions and they are doing everything they can to make that happen. The veteran QB might be up there a bit in age, but many teams would still love to have him.
Multiple reports have stated around 1/3 of the league had at least called the Lions about what it would take to acquire Stafford.
Well, according to Josina Anderson, a source told her that the Lions are “looking for a sucker” to overpay” for Stafford.
A deal is reportedly going to happen so soon, that it may even happen before the Bucs and Chiefs take the field for the Super Bowl.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that offers are currently “hot and heavy” for Stafford and that the team is still trying to work out the best scenario.

“We’re mindful of trying to give him what he wants as well, but he also knows that, listen, we’re going to find the best value for the Detroit Lions and what’s best for us,” Campbell told the Free Press.
Teams can agree on trades right now, but nothing can be set in stone until the new league starts in March.
