The 2023 season marks the 90th year in the franchise history of the Detroit Lions. To celebrate the milestone, the Lions revealed a new logo and patch honoring the 90th year of Lions football.
The commemorative logo has been on display in Ford Field throughout the season.
According to the team’s website, “Inspiration for the 90th season logo design is an homage to the Lions team logo from the 1960s (1961-1969), which is also honored in the WCF memorial logo and the 60th commemorative season logo. The 90th season logo will be used in-stadium at Ford Field and notably, featured in a jersey patch on the Lions uniform.”
The Lions were originally founded in Portsmouth, Ohio, and relocated to Detroit in 1934.
