It’s that time of the year again, folks.
Every year, you come across stories of extremely loyal and optimistic sports fan getting tattoos of their team logos with a message about how they’ll win the league championship in the coming season.
Well, one ultra-confident and humble Detroit Lions fan felt confident enough to treat themselves to a tattoo of his team winning the Super Bowl. The tattoo reads “Super Bowl Champs 2024”, with the Lions logo and the Lombardi Trophy together:
The Lions are one of four teams to have never played in the Super Bowl, along with the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars. But there’s a first time for everything, and just maybe this is the year it all comes together for a long-suffering Lions franchise.
The NFC North club also hasn’t won a playoff game since the 1991 season, though they came awfully close to upsetting the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014 Divisional Round.
Detroit is coming off their first winning season (9-8) since 2017, having only missed out on the postseason to the Seattle Seahawks because of a tiebreaker. With Aaron Rodgers no longer residing in the NFC North, the division is wide open and there for the taking.
