The Detroit Lions have already decided to make a move that should hurt fans’ pockets amid their resurgence.
The Lions haven’t made the playoffs since 2016 but, sitting at 10-4 with three games to go, it will take an otherworldly collapse to see them miss out this season. And it appears that they’re in no mood to waste time cashing in on the impact Dan Campbell is having as head coach.
Fans had become used to being treated to subpar performances in Detroit, yet that’s changing now. Unfortunately, they’re going to have to pay for it.
The team sent out their season ticket renewal notices this Monday, with a spokesperson noting that the annual price had gone up by 30 percent, per the Detroit Free Press. Some fans claim that the hike is a lot higher in certain sections, though.
One man revealed his went up by 78 percent while another said he’s staring at an 86 percent spike.
While a playoff spot isn’t assured just yet as the Lions haven’t officially clinched a playoff spot, an appearance is pretty much a foregone conclusion. All of Detroit must have been backing the Eagles on Monday night as a Philly win over Seattle would have seen to that, but it did not happen.

There’s no way of knowing how deep of a run they’ll put together once they do get there. But the team has already made the choice to charge premium rates so fans could continue watching Campbell-brand football next term.
