When the Detroit Lions kick off their season on Thursday, it will be the start of something that fans hope is remarkable.
Their season-opener is no easy matchup as they are facing the Kansas City Chiefs who are the reigning Super Bowl champions. Not to mention, they’ve also been historically good in season-opening games since Patrick Mahomes took over as quarterback.
The Lions won’t have many people on their side inside Arrowhead Stadium, but they will certainly have the cheerleading squad on the field.
This week, the cheering squad has been posting to their official Instagram account to get ready for the big game.
This year, the Lions use opening night as a springboard to prove that they are capable of reaching the top of the NFL mountain and it would send a strong message to everybody around the league.

From Detroit’s standpoint, it also doesn’t hurt that Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, who amassed 15.5 sacks in 2022, will be sitting out Thursday due to a contract holdout.
On top of that, the Chiefs offense will not have Travis Kelce who was ruled out for the game.
The offense, led by QB Jared Goff must be near-perfect, and the defense must step up because you can never count out an offense led by Patrick Mahomes.
