The Baltimore Ravens made their boldest move of the offseason in hopes of mending the relationship with Lamar Jackson by reaching a one-year agreement with three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Sunday.
The deal is worth up to $18 million and includes $15 million guaranteed. However, more details have come out about that deal.
Beckham received a $13.835 million signing bonus as part of his deal while his base salary for the 2023 season will be $1.165 million. Beckham could earn an additional $3 million in incentives.
The reason they were able to fit this deal into their salary cap was because they added four void years to the end of Beckham’s contract. Beckham’s cap hit for the 2023 season is reportedly $3.932 million.
The Ravens had been in contact with Beckham since last year and they finally struck a deal a day before Beckham was scheduled to visit the New York Jets.
The addition of Beckham comes a month after Jackson requested a trade from the Ravens. However, the team never mentioned it publicly as they placed the nonexclusive franchise tag on Jackson, but no team has yet to publicly pursue him.

Beckham becomes the most decorated player on the NFL’s most unproven wide receiver group. Baltimore has ranked last in the NFL in receiving yards by wideouts in three of the past four seasons. If Odell can stay healthy, the Ravens offense can be deadly. Before the knee injury, he displayed with the Los Angeles Rams during their championship season that he can still be an impact player after his career took a nose dive playing with Baker Mayfield in Cleveland.
Beckham joined the Rams in November of the 2021 season after being released by the Browns. He caught five touchdowns over eight regular-season games with the Rams and two more in four postseason contests.
With Jackson and Odell already hanging out, it appears he is on board with playing with the Ravens in 2023.
