Kansas City’s police chief said no charges have been filed yet in the deadly parade shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
That is not all they had to say.
One of the men who was seen in handcuffs wasn’t actually a suspect and cops have since released that man to be free to go home as they determined he had nothing to do with the shooting that took the life of a mother of two and wounded 22 others.
Gunfire broke out at the end of the Chiefs Super Bowl parade as players and staff from the team were being led off the stage right as the shooting was taking place. The barrage of gunfire outside a nearby former train station sent crowds of fans at the rally running for safety on Wednesday.
The shooting, which left 43-year-old local radio DJ Elizabeth Galvin dead, was a “personal dispute” and not related to terror, detectives have since confirmed. Lopez-Galvan was described as an extrovert and devoted mother. Her DJ name was “Lisa G” and she hosted a show called “Taste of Tejano”.
