Deshaun Watson is now facing 23 civil lawsuits after another woman filed a suit against him in Harris County courts Tuesday. According to the suit, the massage therapist changed her mind on suing him after watching last week’s HBO’s “Real Sports” story in which Soledad O’Brien spoke to a couple other massage therapists accusing Watson of sexual misconduct during their sessions.
Many have wondered why Watson hasn’t just settled all of his lawsuits by now, but the 23rd lawsuit revealed that he did have an offer of $100K per alleged victim.
According to his lawyer, Rusty Hardin, Watson wanted those cases settled this offseason so he could take his talents even further down south. Hardin joined SportsRadio 610 on Friday and revealed the Browns QB really wanted to join the Miami Dolphins.
Tony Buzbee, the attorney who represents all of the women who are suing Watson, said last year that the Dolphins wanted at least one accuser to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
If all 22 women had agreed to Watson’s settlement offer, it’s possible that Watson would be playing for the Dolphins right now, but four of the women pushed back and refused to sign.

As things currently stand, Watson is still facing 23 civil lawsuits. In the meantime, the NFL is finishing up its investigation into the Browns quarterback, an investigation that should be completed soon, according to commissioner Roger Goodell.
“I think we’re nearing the end of the investigative period,” Goodell said at the Spring League Meeting on May 24. “Then it will be handled by our disciplinary officer.”
