Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson still isn’t practicing and it’s starting to look as if he won’t play Sunday against San Francisco.
Heading into the Week 6 matchup against the undefeated San Francisco 49ers, it’s uncertain if Watson will play.
Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot detailed the injury situation while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show.
“Deshaun Watson, leading up to the Ravens game, really believed 100 percent he was going to play in that game. Remember, he played at Clemson on a Torn ACL, he played for the Houston Texans on a collapsed lung, and won both of those games. So he feels invisible, feels he can go out there and play even when his shoulder isn’t right.
“But by the time he got to the game on Sunday morning, I watched him warm up, he did the little five and 10 yard passes, and he just didn’t feel right.”
Watson missed practice this week on Wednesday and Thursday. It was previously reported he was day-to-day with a rotator cuff contusion.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that if Watson couldn’t play, the Browns would start veteran P.J. Walker. He will be elevated from the practice squad ahead of the game.
