The Houston Texans have not had a good 2020. It was bad enough that the team squandered a 24-0 lead to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs and got beat by double-digits, but who knew it would get much worse just months later.
Earlier this week, Bill O’Brien sent shock-waves through the league when DeAndre Hopkins and a fourth round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for injury-hampered running back David Johnson, a second, and a 2021 fourth round pick.
Deshaun Watson lost his best target for absolutely nothing at all.
During Thursday’s First Take segment, Stephen A. Smith said that Watson should try and force his way out.
It is unlikely that will happen, and Watson won’t be a free agent until 2022 and will demand a huge contract at that time.
Watson took the high rode when he heard the news, writing on Twitter, “Not sure how you thank someone who has done so much for you and your career,” he tweeted, tagging his now-former teammate after the news came down. “Wishing you everything you deserve Fam!”
