The NFL and NFL Players Association are reportedly continuing to hold talks regarding a settlement to the appeal of Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s suspension.
A final ruling on Deshaun Watson could be coming down in 24 to 48 hours.
According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the NFL could reach a settlement with Watson’s reps. If that goes down, then former New Jersey Attorney General Peter Harvey won’t even have to issue a final ruling.
“Sources close to the Deshaun Watson situation believe a resolution could come today or tomorrow,” Graziano reported on Wednesday. “Recent talks between NFL and Watson’s reps have heightened hope that they can reach a settlement without Peter C. Harvey having to rule, but it’s unclear how much longer he will wait.”
Disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson suspended Watson for six games earlier this month after an NFL investigation into the 25 civil lawsuits filed by women accusing him of sexual assault or sexual misconduct during massage sessions.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decided to appeal the decision in search of more games and a huge fine, so he appointed Harvey to hear the appeal.
During an interview on Friday, Watson said, “I want to say that I’m truly sorry to all of the women that I have impacted in this situation.”
“The decisions that I made in my life that put me in this position I would definitely like to have back,” he continued. “But I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character and I am going to keep pushing forward.”
Last week, Goodell called for at least a one-year suspension.
