When it comes to teams that are dire need of a quarterback, the New York Jets are easily one of the top teams who don’t seem to be confident in Sam Darnold going forward.
The New York Jets are considered to be one of many teams that will send packages to the Houston Texans to see where their interest is in trading their disgruntled quarterback. Todd McShay doesn’t see it that way.
The ESPN NFL draft analyst actually doesn’t see Watson as that much of an upgrade over Sam Darnold. In fact, he said Watson “might be slightly better than Sam.”
Darnold is 13-25 as a starter with 45 touchdowns and 39 interceptions to his name.
Watson is 28-25 with three pro bowls under his belt, with 104 touchdowns and 36 interceptions. He has also been to the playoffs a few times as well.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh is just fine with Darnold, but one thinks he wouldn’t mind having a talent like Watson at his disposal.
