Just in case you haven’t noticed or have been distracted by the saga surrounding Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, there has been next to nothing coming out in regards to Deshaun Watson. That was literally an impossible task when sexual misconduct allegations first surfaced on the Texans QB.
It leads you to believe that something is being done behind the scenes….like settlements? Rich Eisen thinks so.
He discussed the Watson saga on his show and detailed what he heard around the time of the NFL Draft about the Texans QB working on settling cases with some or all of his 22-plus alleged victims.
“You can hear a pin drop on Deshaun Watson … All eyes on the civil court system in Texas,” Eisen said this week on the Rich Eisen Show. “Is Deshaun Watson settling his cases right now?
“I think it’s quiet right now for a reason. You don’t hear a word from a lawyer (Tony Buzbee) who was on Instagram like he was a 16-year-old sophomore,” Eisen said. “Every single thing was going on Instagram. You don’t hear a word from him right now, do you? Why? Anybody who knows the legal system knows that means something’s being discussed and you don’t want to upset it.
He believes that could allow Watson to play at some point in 2021.
“You could (say) settling doesn’t remove anything with Deshaun Watson. That’s correct, he could still get suspended, but not for the entirety of the 2021 season.”

Recent reports suggest Houston “slowly moving on” from Watson, and they seemed to prove it by selecting Stanford quarterback Davis Mills in the third round at No. 67 overall.
Aside from Watson, the team now has Tyrod Taylor, Davis Mills, and Ryan Finley at the QB position. Safe to say that it is going to be a long 2021 NFL campaign.
