The Cleveland Browns are looking to make a big statement in the AFC North today when they take on the Baltimore Raves, but it appears as though they’ll have to do it without the services of their starting quarterback.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Browns QB Deshaun Watson will not be playing in today’s game due to a shoulder injury that he’s been battling all week.
Earlier this weekend, it was reported that Watson was expected to be healthy enough to play in this pivotal division game, but apparently he either suffered a setback or just didn’t improve as much as the medical staff had hoped.
With Watson unable to go, the Browns will now turn to rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.The former UCLA signal-caller impressed during the preseason after being taken in the fifth round of this year’s draft. He’ll have his work cut out for him against a stingy Ravens defense with plenty of playmakers in their secondary.
